J. Lee Thomason

Drawing, in the spirit of art, has always been a way of expression and exploration for me among other creative interests. I was encouraged at home and in school through college and have kept up my interest in fits and starts but, in a not unusual way, ultimately embarked on a career with a more practical bent. The opportunity arose in 2008 to start preserving and enhancing pieces from my portfolio of drawings from a period of over 25 years. The resulting project Mountain Works premiered in Mid-October 2009 with the presentation of 17 original archival quality giclee print images at the Concept Gallery on South Main in Memphis.

The energy around this project calls me to pursue further creative endeavors including explorations in acting, digital cinema, metaphysics, symbol and the mundane. Blessed and surprised by this adventure into the American mytho-poetic milieu I invite you to join me starting with your exploration and engagement of Mountain Works and the promised to follow further pursuits in perceptual delight co-created in the embodiment of experience and vision.
